Autism Spectrum Disorder

Children of many ages can be referred for evaluation for Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).  ASD evaluations can be completed for any age, but telehealth evaluations are available only for children aged 5 years and younger.

ASD evaluations typically take anywhere from 4-10 hours depending on the age and availability of documents to review.  ASD evaluations can be completed in person or via telehealth.

In person ASD evaluations are only available at our Toledo, Ohio location and can be conducted for any age.

Telehealth ASD evaluations are only available for children aged 5 years and younger.  This is because children aged 6 years and older should be evaluated in person due to the availability of standardized testing instruments for this age group.

Telehealth evaluations are available for families residing in Ohio, Michigan, Nebraska, Maryland, and Virginia, or any state that is currently part of PsyPact.  Telehealth ASD evaluations entail completion of online forms, gathering documents, completing an online screener, and then approximately 3 video telehealth appointments.  The entire testing process takes about 5-6 hours and is usually completed within 2 weeks.

Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)

An estimated 7 million children have been diagnosed with some form of ADHD in the United States.  ADHD is more than forgetfulness and hyperactivity; it is a form of neurodiversity and evaluation of this diagnosis takes careful measurements.  ADHD diagnostic testing is conducted over multiple appointments.  Individually administered assessments, parent and teacher rating forms, and a comprehensive clinical interview are part of the evaluation process.  Testing will reveal not only a diagnosis, but will also generate specific recommendations to help your child thrive in school and beyond.

Intellectual Disability

Intellectual disability is difficult to distinguish from other developmental disabilities, thus psychological testing is usually needed for a diagnosis.  Intellectual testing is completed, as well as developmental screenings, a clinical interview, and parent and teacher rating forms.  Testing will lead to diagnostic clarity, allowing for specific treatment recommendations to be made.
